A friend or coworker is pushing you over the edge today -- even though you know perfectly well that they don't mean anything serious. Just take a deep breath and let them make a fool of themselves.

OSCE special envoy speaks for resolving frozen regional conflicts

The OSCE Finnish presidency pays particular attention to regional conflicts and stands for resolving them, Heikki Talvitie, the Special Envoy appointed by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Finnish Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva, stated while meeting with Moldovan Parliament Chairman Marian Lupu here today.

The parties discussed the Transnistrian settlement issue, and spoke out for resuming the Chisinau-Tiraspol negotiation process without delay.

Marian Lupu said the Moldovan Parliament is exerting energetic measures aimed at building up mutual trust between the two Dniester banks and establishing a permanent dialog at the levels of citizens and non-governmental organizations.

The Parliament Chairman said interaction with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is valuable for democratic reforms in Moldova, for a better human rights protection, and promotes the monitoring of the electoral system and mass media evolution.

The interlocutors shared an opinion that the March 16 election of the Gagauzia Popular Assembly, that would hopefully be held in accordance with international standards, will reaffirm Moldova’s striving for Europe, and will become a test for the 2009 parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova.  // Infotag
