A law project denotes the assurance of families of the first persons in a state with bodyguards
The first rank officials will not have the right to refuse having a bodyguard, even if they wanted it. This thing is included in the law project regarding the State Guard and Protection Service, which has already reached the Parliament and is going to be debated by deputies soon, DECA-press communicates.
According to the document, the category of officials of the Republic of Moldova who are provided protection include: the president of the Republic of Moldova, president of the Parliament, the prime-minister, ex-presidents of the Republic of Moldova, ex-presidents of the Parliament in the period fixed by the legislation. At the same time, during the mandates of the president of the Republic of Moldova, the president of the Parliament and the prime-minister, their families will be also provided bodyguards. In extreme cases, at the decision of the president of the Republic of Moldova, other persons will be also provided protection «if it is proved that they are in danger or if there is information about the organization of some actions which would threaten their life, physical integrity and their health. „The foreign officials and their family members will be provided protection during their visit to the Republic of Moldova, according to the home legislation, international treaties and agreements which Moldova is a part of”, the law project says.
