CEC accredited new observers for the elections from the Gagauzian Autonomy
The Central Election Commission (CEC) accredited 19 new foreign observers for the elections from the National Assembly (the legislative body of the Gagauzian autonomy) from Comrat, scheduled for March 16th.
As DECA-press Agency informs, one of them will represent the Embassy of Czech Republic to Moldova, and the other 18 – the OSCE Mission. Thus, the number of foreign observers for the elections from Gagauzia reached 24, because, before that, CEC had also accredited five observers from the National Democratic Instituite. The elections from March 16th will be monitored by local observers as well. In comparison with the foreign ones, the local observers do not register at CEC, they register at the electoral authority from Comrat. Despite the fact there a few days left till the elections, nobody knows yet what financial resources will be used for financing the elections. // DECA-Press Publication date: 27 February 2008 Source: Archive
