The opposition deputies have different opinion about the new Law of meetings
The oppositions deputies have different opinion about the new Law of meetings, which was adopted by the Parliament in the final reading, at the plenary sitting from Friday, DECA-press transmits.
The law says that the organizers of meetings will not have to get authorizations fro the local public administration anymore. They will just announce them about their intention to organize a meeting. The meetings will be held in any place open for the public out of buildings and other closed spaces. According to the document, citizens older than 14 years old will have the possibility to participate at these meetings. The deputy of the Social-Democratic Party, Ivan Banari, declared that the opposition will have problems after the implementation of the law project and said that the governing authorities will use it against the opposition at the coming elections. Gheorghe Susarenco, deputy of „Moldova Noastra” Alliance, declared that the Law is good and it is done according to European standards. He said that the communist governing adopted it now in order to have the possibility to organize meetings without any problems. // DECA-Press Publication date: 23 February 2008 Source: Archive
