The PNL leader affirms that the fear of Russian in Moldova is due to the process of Russification

The leader of the National-Liberal Party (PNL), Vitalia Pavlicenco, affirms that, the phobia of Russian in Moldova is due to the Russification process. A declaration in this context was made by the Russian informing portal „Regnum”, cited by DECA-press Agency.
„Both, Moldova/Russian and all other ethnic communities have been russified in the Soviet times. The present problems in the inter-ethnic relation field come from those times, which may be connected to the Russians' guilty in the destiny of the native population”, the leader of PNL said.
In his opinion, the Russification process continues till present days. „If it didn't exist, it wouldn't exist any replies to them”, Vitalia Pavlicenco mentioned.
The leader of PNL declared that, in time of the communist governing system, the Moldovan society was more and more divided according to ethnic criteria. In this context, she reminded about the statement of president Voronin according to which he doesn't want to be the president of Romanian-speaking people, and according to Vitalia Pavlicenco's words, 80% of the inhabitants of Republic of Moldova are Romanian. // DECA-Press
