Social-liberals from Criuleni and Stefan Voda join PLDM

Social-liberals from the districts of Criuleni and Stefan Voda diffused on Thursday, press statements by means of which they announced about the fact they are members of the Social-Liberal Party (PSL), DECA-press Agency transmits.
At the same time, they announce that they join the Liberal Democratic Party from Moldova (PLDM).
The former social-liberals from Criuleni assert that this is „a new force which offers new chances of consolidation of democracy in Moldova”.
Through this action, the former social-liberals express their disagreement with the decision of fusion of PSL with the Democratic Party from Moldova (PDM). „The modifications come in contradiction with a series of objectives exposed by us in the electoral programs from the electoral campaign for the local elections from summer 2007”, the authors of the statement from Criuleni assert.
In their turn, the former social-liberals from Stefan Voda say that the fusion of the two parties „is an act of betrayal of the values of thousands of members and adepts of PSL in exchange of some personal favouring the leaders of PSL”.
The statement of the former social-liberals from Criuleni was signed by 13 district and local councillors. The statement of the former social-liberals from Stefan Voda was signed by 12 former members of the party, including district councillors.
We specify that the Congress of fusion of PDM with PSL will be held on February 10th. It is expected that PSL will self-dissolve, and according to some information, its leader will become Dumitru Diacov, leader of PD, and the current leader of PSL, Oleg Serebrian – vice-president. // DECA-Press
