An institute of an American political group will monitor the elections from Gagauzia
National Democratic Institute (NDI), a division of the Democratic Party from the USA, manifests interest in the elections which are to take place in Gagauzia. That is why they decided to delegate their representatives for this voting, DECA-press Agency informs.
The Central Electoral Committee (CEC) has registered five observers from their part. They have permanent representation in Chisinau. NDI observers are the only foreign observers accredited for the elections that are to take place on March 16th in Gagauzia. It is not known the exact number of the national observers yet. In the previous years, this region aroused the interest of the organizations from Chisinau dealing with the monitoring of the electoral procedures. National Democratic Institute, as well as International Republican Institute (an institution of the Republican Party in the USA), is one of the most powerful institutions from the world. // DECA-Press Publication date: 07 February 2008 Source: Archive
