CEC to appoint representatives for presidential elections in Russia next week
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is to appoint representatives for the presidential elections in Russia due in spring, 2008, within the Tuesday sitting on February, 5, Deputy President of CEC Renata Lapti stated for BASA-press.
“We have just received an invitation for the part of the Russian CEC through which they request that some representatives of the Commission be present at the presidential elections. We are going to make a decision on this, next week.” a spus Renata Lapti. According to the quoted source, the observers for the Presidential elections in Russia are also to be appointed at the sitting. According to Head of Russian CEC Vladimir Churov the presidential election s in March are to be monitored by 400 foreign observers. This is half the number of observers accredited to the 2004 elections.
