A pro-Russian party accuses the occidental diplomatic body that “it has in Moldova other interests than the promotion of democracy”
The Party „Patria-Moldova” accuses the occidental diplomatic body, accredited in Chisinau, that is has got other interests than the promotion of democracy and European values in Republic of Moldova. A declaration in this context was made by the vice-president of the faction, Gheorghe Sima, on Wednesday, in time of a press conference.
He specified, cited by DECA-press Agency, that such a conclusion was drawn by the leaders of the party after having asked some ambassadors and leaders of international bodies to interfere with the resolution of the conflict between „Patria-Moldova” and the Ministry of Justice. The vice-president of „Patria-Moldova” asserts that the Ministry of Justice doesn’t want to register the results of its Congress from September 9th for already three months. At this congress, several important decisions have been taken such as: the change of the name of the party from the Union of Labour „Patria-Rodina” into „Patria Moldova”; the election of Andrei Tarna, president of Moldovan illegal workers in Moscow, as a leader of „Patria-Moldova”; the decision to consolidate the pro-Russian left forces. Sima affirms that all the foreign diplomats listened carefully to the problems which „Patria-Moldova” has, but, except the special representative of the European Union o Moldova, Kalman Miszei, nobody took any measures in this context. He said that „Miszei raised this problem at the highest possible level, but nothing followed”. // DECA-Press Publication date: 09 January 2008 Source: Archive
