The electoral blocks will be prohibited, according to the project of a legislative initiative

The project of a legislative initiative of three communist deputies has been published on the official site of the Parliament of Republic of Moldova (www.parlament.md). The initiative prohibits the existence of electoral blocks, DECA-press Agency informs.
The law project also says the persons with double citizenship, with penal antecedents and persons under penal investigation will not have the right to participate at the elections.
The communist deputies who elaborated the law project assert that its aim is to remove some deficiencies existent in the electoral legislation. They affirm that the document they have proposed doesn't contradict the European standards in the field under consideration.
Yet, the opposition believes that the authors of the project followed the interests of their faction. The representatives of the opposition pay attention to the fact that many leaders of parties are under penal investigation or were in the past. Thus, they will not be permitted to participate at the next elections.
They affirm that the prohibition of electoral blocks aims at limiting the access of the opposition to power in 2009.
