Suicide bombers strike in Quetta, Pakistan
Two suicide bombers struck a military checkpoint in Quetta, Pakistan, Thursday, killing at least seven people.
The attacks took place about 20 minutes apart, Pakistan Dawn reported. The BBC put the total number of dead at eight and said five of those killed were soldiers. Many more people were wounded. Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan Province, is close to the frontier with Afghanistan and crowded with Afghan refugees. The city is a center of Taliban activity. The second bombing occurred after troops blocked the road, creating a knot of people and vehicles, Dawn said. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International Publication date: 14 December 2007 Source: Archive
