Jury finds Convertino not guilty
A federal jury in Detroit has found Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Convertino not guilty of concealing evidence in a 2003 terrorism trial.
The jury also acquitted former U.S. Embassy security agent Ray Smith, the Detroit Free Press said Wednesday. Smith and Convertino were accused of hiding photographs in the the 2003 case, which involved four men accused of being members of a terrorist sleeper cell. The newspaper said Smith was accused of lying about taking photos, while Convertino was accused of leading him through false testimony and of hiding photos taken at Smith’s request. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International Publication date: 01 November 2007 Source: Archive
