Try to give yourself a reality check -- it may be tough to get it from anyone else! At least one of your goals doesn't seem to square with the facts on the ground and it maybe time to finally let go.

Bulgaria puts euro Cyrillic spelling aside

EU and Bulgarian officials worked out a solution to the euro’s Cyrillic spelling, allowing Montenegro to sign a key accord with the Western bloc.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev told reporters in Brussels his government wouldn't cause problems for Montenegro, the EU Observer said Monday.

The European Union and Montenegro Monday signed a stabilization and association agreement in Luxembourg during a meeting of EU foreign ministers after Bulgaria had agreed the linguistic-technical problem of its Cyrillic spelling of the European monetary unit would be solved as soon as possible.

Bulgaria, which became member of the EU in January, last week insisted the EU currency be written as “evro,” as it is transcribed in Bulgarian Cyrillic letters, and not as “euro,” as is written in EU documents including the Montenegrin association agreement. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
