An opposition deputy has resignedOn Thursday, the Parliament permitted the dismissal of the deputy of the Alliance „Moldova Noastra” (AMN), Ion Ciontoloi, with a majority of votes. This one refuse the mandate of deputy in the favour of the president of the district of Causeni, DECA-press Agency informs. Ion Ciontoloi is from Causeni and came to Chisinau in 2005, after having been elected deputy on the lists of the Electoral Block „Moldova Democrata”. Before that, at the request of the General Prosecutor, the Parliament took back his immunity, being accused of violations committed before becoming deputy. AMN considers the suspension of their colleague’s immunity as an attempt of political revenge. Ion Ciontoloi has been elected as president of the district of Causeni after the general local elections from this year. Ion Ciontoloi’s place in the Parliaent will be occupied by the next candidate from the list of the electoral block „Moldova Democrata”, after the Constitutional Court will validate the mandate at the request of the Central Election Commission. // DECA-Press Publication date: 05 October 2007 Source: Archive
