Chisinau states for one more time: no Romanian consulates in Balti and CahulAs a result of the protests held on September 11th and 13th in front of the Ministry of the External Affairs and European Integration asking for the opening of Romanian consulates in Balti and Cahul, the officials from Chisinau made it clear that they won’t accept to open additional consulates in the republic of Moldova. The ministry claims that this position was taken during the latest bilateral meeting between the republic of Moldova and Romania, DECA-press Agency informs. We remind that in the middle of March the authorities from Chisinau informed the Romanian Embassy that they had changed their mind concerning the opening of the consulates in Balti and Cahul. Last October, the authorities from Chisinau accepted the opening of the consulates. In January, Vladimir Voronin assured the president of Romania that the opening of the two consulates will take place in the nearest future. // DECA-Press Publication date: 13 September 2007 Source: Archive
