Boston mayor recovers after knee surgeryBoston Mayor Thomas Menino is recovering at home following knee surgery, his office said Friday. Menino, who suffered the knee injury at a Red Sox rally last year, had two pieces of torn cartilage removed from his right knee, the Boston Globe reported Friday.
The mayor will begin physical therapy next week, the newspaper reported. The surgery took less than an hour and required only local anesthesia, Joyce said. The procedure was done at Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Mass.
