AMN will participate in 2009 elections by itself
The Our Moldova Alliance (AMN) will take part in the 2009 legislative elections by itself, but it does not rule out the possibility of merging with a number of smaller parties that do not have chances of entering the Parliament through self-dissolution.
The statement was made by the AMN leader Serafim Urechean at a news conference on September 3. Speaking about the composition of the future Parliament, the AMN leader said that most probably AMN will hold the majority of seats. The Communists will hold 20% of the seats, while the rest of the seats will be distributed among two parties at the most. Urechean refused to specify what two parties, but stressed that the democratic forces have good chances of holding the majority seats in the future Parliament.
