You need to kick back for a while today and soak up some history however you can. It's not the best time to get lots of stuff done, but you might be able to learn a few things and improve the future.

Texas lottery game linked to pornography

A Web site link from the Texas lottery to an Internet social networking site containing some pornographic postings has some people upset.

Promotions for the Slingo scratch-off lottery ticket include encouragement to go to the Web site for Slingo.com where players can connect with each other. But some profiles at that address have contained images that surprised some, KHOU-TV, Houston, reported Thursday.

I tell you, I represent some folks who are pretty disturbed by this whole thing, said Rob Kohler of the Christian Life Commission. We came across several that are direct links into pornographic Web sites where individuals talk about who they are and then, 'Come look at my link.'

Texas Lottery officials also expressed surprise.

We think it's inappropriate, and we definitely don't want to expose our players to material like that, said spokesman Bobby Heith. Because of our agreement on this particular game, we have to display their Web site on our Web site. We don't have to link to it, we only reference, but we would warn all our players to be careful.
