PD and PSD will discuss possibility of taking part in upcoming elections under joint list
The Democratic Party (PD) has announced that it carries out talks with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) over the joint participation in the 2009 parliamentary elections.
The announcement was made by the PD leader Dumitru Diacov at a news conference on July 21. “As a result of discussions with Dumitru Braghis, we came to the conclusion that we should join forces and take part in elections as one party,” Diacov said. Asked how this can happen if the legislation bans the electoral blocks, Diacov said that the talks between PD and PSD “must finalize with the merger of the two parties”. “The law bans representatives of two parties from participating in elections under the same list, but the creation of a joint list is possible,” Diacov said.//REPORTER.MD Publication date: 21 July 2008 Source: Archive
