Head of state stresses necessity of correctly informing Brussels about areas considered critical

Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin says that the Moldovan authorities should correctly inform Brussels about the areas considered critical. He raised this topic at the meeting of the National Commission for European Integration on July 17.

According to the head of state, the measure is necessary because the perceptions of the EU are mistaken as they look for information in the opposition press. In this connection, Voronin instructed the governmental officials to prepare relevant informative notes about the areas considered critical by European officials and experts so as to present them regularly to the European Commission.

"We do not want to make propaganda, but to present facts. We cannot speak about propaganda and demagogy with the EU, but only about concrete facts,” Voronin said at the meeting.

Vladimir Voronin gave such instructions after a number of EU officials criticized the Moldovan authorities for bad management in such areas as freedom of the media, financing of local administrations headed by the Opposition, for the banning public officials from holding dual nationality etc.//REPORTER.MD
