PSD refutes information that its members joined PL
The Social Democratic Party of Moldova (PSD) accuses the Liberal Party (PL) of misinformation.
In a communique, PSD refutes the PL’s statements that a number of PSD members left the party and joined the Liberal Party. The Social Democratic Party says that only one person from the PSD branch in Drochia, Silvia Plesca, filed an application to join PL, but withdrew it later. The mayor of Burlanesti village in Edinet district also denied having left PSD for joining PL. ”The Liberal Party initiated a campaign to defame PSD and misinform the people following Ghimpu’s dismissal from the post of chairman of the Chisinau Council,” the communique says. On July 14, PL announced that all the members of PSD from Floreni village in Anenii Noi district decided to withdraw from the party and join PL. The mayor of Burlanesti village in Edinet district, Alexei Gheras has also announced that he leaves PSD. PL also said that some of the members of the PPCD branch in Ungheni joined the PL branch in this district. The former president of PPCD from Drochia, Vasile Bogatu also joined the ranks of the Liberal Party.//REPORTER.MD Publication date: 17 July 2008 Source: Archive
