EU’s expansion must continue for Western Balkans and Moldova, Romanian MEP
"It is absolutely necessary that the expansion of the European Union continues for the Western Balkan countries and for Moldova,” Romanian MEP Marian Jean Marinescu said on July 11 during debates on the EU Extension Strategy.
’The future extension strategy must be based on the experience gained until present and on the present political and economic situation. The earlier expansions brought advantages to the Union in general and to the countries that joined it,” Marinescu considers. “There are arguments in favor of the expansion. I think that it is to the EU’s detriment to leave such countries as Moldova and those from Western Balkans outside the Union.”//REPORTER.MD Publication date: 11 July 2008 Source: Archive
