Moldova’s Post Office car detained in Security Zone released
The vehicle of the state-run company Moldova’s Post Office, which was to transport mail and pensions to inhabitants of the Transdniestrian villages that are under Moldova’s control and was held up at a customs post in Transdniestria, was released on July 9.
At the July 10 meeting of the Joint Control Commission (ICC), Ion Solonenco, the Commission’s co-president on behalf of Moldova, said that in order to avoid similar incidents, the JCC’s decision on the free movement of the tax and debt collectors of Moldova and Transdniestria bearing firearms on the territory of the Security Zone. ![]() The modifications should enable the employees of Moldova’s Post Office that transport mail and pensions to move freely within the Security Zone after presenting the necessary documents.
