A 50-year-old Ohio woman is facing criminal charges for allegedly operating a countrywide prostitution ring, authorities said.

Yong Williams of Cheviot, Ohio, told undercover officials she traveled 40,000 miles on the road during a seven-month period, taking Korean females to brothels throughout the country that were disguised as massage businesses, court documents indicate.

Several of the brothels are in southeast Indiana and northern Kentucky, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Wednesday.

Court records show Williams distributed and held money for parlor owners and made about $545,000 from 2005 to 2006.

It is reported Williams was being held in federal custody and was to attend U.S. district court Wednesday. She could be sentenced to five years behind bars and given a $250,000 fine if found guilty, the Enquirer said.

Police said social services authorities were informed about the Korean women and the brothels in Indiana and Kentucky were closed down after being searched Tuesday.
