Vladimir Voronin to participate in Summit of SEECP Heads of State
President Vladimir Voronin will take part in the eleventh Summit of SEECP Heads of State that will be held in the Bulgarian town of Pomorie on May 21.
According to the presidential press service, at the summit Moldova will take over the SEECP Presidency for 2008-2009 from Bulgaria. Vladimir Voronin will deliver a speech and reiterate the importance that the Moldovan authorities attach to the participation in the SEECP and in other regional European organizations that provide additional and indispensable assistance in reaching the European standards and values. He will also speak about Moldova’s priorities while holding the SEECP Presidency and about the prospects of developing cooperation within this organization. In the evening of May 21, the head of state will return to Chisinau. According to Bulgarian press reports, the summit will be attended by the President of Macedonia Branko Tsurvenkovski, Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, Croatian Premier Ivo Sander and Bulgarian Premier Sergey Stanishev.
