You need to get moving -- even though you'd probably rather just stay at home all day. You can force yourself, though and if you do, you'll be glad you did. There's a lot of fun to be had out there!

Sergey Mironov: The key to Transdniestria conflict is in Chisinau and Tiraspol

“Despite the effort made by the states involved and the international community, the key to the political settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict is in Chisinau and Tiraspol,” the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Sergey Mironov told a news conference in Chisinau on May 19.

The Russian official said that Russia is ready to contribute to the identification of a viable solution to the conflict by respecting the territorial integrity of Moldova. He approved of President Vladimir Voronin’s initiative to resume the direct dialogue with Tiraspol. “”A final solution to the conflict can be found only by direct dialogue and with the support of Russia, of course,” Mironov stressed.

For his part, Speaker Marian Lupu said that what the parties should do at the moment is to forget about enmity and start to cooperate. “Both of the sides must get rid of the stereotypes and hatred. Moldova has already made important steps in this direction. The Transdniestrian side must also change its attitude towards Moldova,” Lupu said.

Asked by the reporters if a solution could be identified by this yearend, the Russian official said that he cannot give terms and does not like to make forecasts. “We are interested in a joint viable solution,” Mironov said.

In the same connection, Marian Lupu has said that the Moldovan authorities hope the conflict will be solved in the near future, but they plead first of all for a qualitative solution // Reporter.MD
