Queen's grandson marries Canadian

The British royal family celebrated the first wedding among Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren Saturday when Peter Phillips married Canadian Autumn Kelly.

About 300 guests were invited to the ceremony in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, The Daily Telegraph reported. They included 70 who had come from the bride's native country.

Phillips, son of Princess Anne and her first husband, Mark Phillips, and Kelly met in 2003 at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. They announced their engagement last year.

While he is 11th in line to the throne, Phillips holds no royal title and carries out no royal duties. Kelly, a Roman Catholic, converted to the Church of England to allow Phillips to keep his place in the succession.

About 200 people waited outside the chapel in the rain to cheer the bride.

Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, arrived with her husband, Tim Laurence, and Phillips and his wife. The queen and Duke of Edinburgh were the last to enter the chapel.
