Igor Smirnov discusses Transdniestria conflict with Russian Ambassador to Moldova
The leader of Transdniestria Igor Smirnov and the Russian Ambassador to Moldova Valery Kuzmin discussed aspects of the political settlement of the Transdniestrian dispute at a meeting on May 15.
According to REPORTER.MD’s correspondent in Tiraspol, Smirnov stressed that the four meetings of Moldovan and Transdniestrian experts held recently have not produced the expected results, but the authorities of Transdniestria are disposed to cooperate in identifying solutions for solving the major social-economic problems in such areas as transport, ecology and humanitarian assistance. For his part, Kuzmin said that the Transdniestria conflict settlement process makes little headway, but voiced hope that the discussions will turn into a constructive dialogue that will bring about positive effects. // Reporter.MD Publication date: 17 May 2008 Source: Archive
