Ukraine reiterates its stance on Transdniestrian dispute
Ukraine has reiterated its position on the Transdniestrian conflict, saying that it is ready to multilaterally contribute to the settlement of the dispute by observing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.
A statement to this effect was made by the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandr Gorin at a meeting with Moldova’s Minister of Reintegration Vasilii Sova in Chisinau on May 14. According to the Ministry of Reintegration, the two officials stressed the necessity of promoting the progress made in the Transdniestria conflict settlement talks and the measures aimed at building confidence between Chisinau and Tiraspol. The interlocutors underlined the necessity of resuming the talks in the 5+2 format as soon as possible so as to finally identify a solution to the conflict. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Moldova Serghei Pirojcov also took part in the meeting // Reporter.MD Publication date: 14 May 2008 Source: Archive
