Turkey: Roadside bomb kills 3, wounds 3A land mine concealed by a militant group exploded in Batman, Turkey, leaving three people dead and three wounded, officials said. The roadside bomb, allegedly planted by the Kurdistan Workers Party, also known as PKK, went off when a minibus transporting villagers and guards drove by, the New Anatolian reported Friday. Batman Gov. Recep Kizilcik said the bomb was remote-controlled and was intended to strike the minibus. Land mine blasts are frequent in the southeast area, where they are planted by PKK members targeting Turkish armed forces, the report said. It is reported PKK militants commonly conceal land mines on unpaved roads frequented by military officers.
