Crane falls on maternity clinic

The arm of a crane fell onto the maternity section of a major medical center in Volos, Greece, causing a flurry of panic, an official said.

About 40 expectant mothers were at the clinic for appointments when the incident occurred Thursday, Kathimerini reported.

No injuries were reported, hospital workers said. It is reported the clinic's director was left in shock.

Hospital director Maria Karra said the business responsible for the crane failed to put it in place in the manner advised by authorities.

Operators of the crane said the ground beneath the crane prompted its arm to fall off.
