Moldovan lawmakers visiting Hungary
The Republic of Moldova needs a new legal agreement with the European Union that would stipulate the country’s gradual approaching to European freedoms, Moldovan Parliament Chairman Marian Lupu stated in the National Assembly of Hungary on Tuesday. He heads a Moldovan parliamentary delegation paying a visit to Budapest
The Moldovan Speaker told Hungarian colleagues that the incumbent EU-Moldova European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan will expire in summer 2008, and it should be replaced with “a document on an unconditional European perspective for the Republic of Moldova”. The Hungarian deputies reaffirmed their support for Moldova on its path to European integration and to obtaining a European Union mandate for starting negotiations on a new legal agreement with the European community. The Hungarian lawmakers expressed their support for solving the Transnistria conflict on the principles of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. The Moldovan delegation will come back home on Wednesday evening. // Infotag Publication date: 06 May 2008 Source: Archive
