Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin and breakaway Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov met in Tighina on Friday to discuss the Transnistrian conflict settlement.
According to the Russian mass-media, the meeting was organized by the so-called Transistria’s minister of foreign affairs Valeriu Litcai and Moldovan Minister of Reintegration Vasile Sova. According to the Russian mass-media, they also attend the meeting.
The parties agreed upon the organization of the meeting during a phone conversation, which took place on April, 7, 2008. The Presidential press Service announced then that the head of state and the breakaway Transnistrian leader were to discuss within the meeting aspects related to development and consolidation of confidence between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
Contacted by BASA-press, sources within the Ministry of Reintegration did not confirm the information, but specified that they are going to come up with details soon. //
