The communist councillors from Balti do not want to listen to the anthem Limba noastra at the beginning of each sitting
The communist councillors from Balti Municipal Council voted against the initiative of a councillor from the opposition, who proposed that each sitting of the frum begins with singing „Limba noastrah – the anthem of the Republic of Moldova, DECA-press Agency transmits.
The proposal was made by Sergiu Banari, social-democratic councillor. According to him, the elected councillors must honour the anthem of the country at each sitting. This proposed was proposed for being voted but it wasn't accepted by the communist majority from the Municipal Council. „Limba noastra” has become the national anthem of the Republic of Moldova in 1994. The words are written by the Basarabian poet Alexei Mateevici. Between 1991 and 1994, the national anthem of Republic of Moldova was „Desteapta-te, romane!”. Recently, the press from Chisinau wrote that the communist authorities have decided to change the current anthem „Limba noastra”.// DECA-Press Publication date: 11 April 2008 Source: Archive
