Proposal to create committee to inquest case of capture of those two hundred kg of heroine, not accepted by Parliament
The deputies of the Our Moldovan Alliance Faction (AMN) left the sitting hall of the Parliament as a sign of protest against the refusal, by the parliamentary majority, of the proposal to create a committee that would inquest the case of capture of those two hundred kg of heroine, recently revealed.
The proposal came from AMN Deputy Ion Pleşca. The refusal of the parliamentary majority of supporting this proposal “denotes the existence of a network of traffickers with high protection in the state administration”, according to Faction Leader Serafim Urechean. This case is examined by the General Prosecutor’s Office, and the creation of a parliamentary committee would encumber the inquest process, currently realized by the prosecutors, Communists’ Party of Moldova Deputy Iurie Stoicov, Commission for the State Security President has said. Our Moldovan Alliance Faction received from sources of the Ministry of Internal Affairs a letter containing the dismissal history of those two policemen that revealed the illegal transportation of the drugs, the faction says. “On the second day, the policemen were called by the former Minister of Internal Affairs Gheorghe Papuc that made them leave from the body of the internal affairs”. Heroine in the amount of ten million euro was revealed by the police in a Hyundai minibus driven by the Turkish citizen Murat Caralar of 37 years old, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Valentin Zubic said at the 20 March press conference. On March 29, the General Prosecutor’s Office decided to arrest the three MAI servicemen, Corneliu Savca, Ruslan Ţopa and Dumitru Moiseev, being suspected of involvement in the case. These were arrested for 30 days. Two of them complained at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding this case. // BASA-Press Publication date: 10 April 2008 Source: Archive
