You need to strut your stuff today -- no matter where you are! It's an odd day for sure, but you can make up for the worst of it by just letting people know what you're made of and what you can do with it.

Vladimir Voronin had phone conversation with Igor Smirnov

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin has had a phone conversation with breakaway Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov.

According to the Presidential press Service, within the phone conversation, the head of state and the breakaway Transnistrian leader agreed upon a bilateral meeting aiming to examine the aspects related to the development and consolidation of confidence measures between Chisinau and Tiraspol.

In late 2007, President Vladimir Voronin put forward a set of initiatives to consolidate confidence and security between Chisinau and Tiraspol in order to settle the Transnistrian conflict. They stipulated the demilitarization, the creation of common military forces of Chisinau and Tiraspol and the substitution of own military units by centers to train peace-keepers. Seven sector groups have been formed which are elaborating measures aiming to carry out the initiatives. On September, 13, 2007, the list with suggestions was transmitted to Transnistria’s representative for political issues in the Transnistrian conflict negotiation process Valeri Litkai. // BASA-Press
