The hea of the state ordered the institution of new members of the Supreme Security Council
President Vladimir Voronin signed a decree on a new list of members of the Supreme Security Council (SSC), DECA-press Agency transmits.
The new staff of SCC formed of 11 persons was ordered on the basis of the Law regarding the security of the state and of the Constitution. The president of the Council is Vladimir Voronin. He is also the supreme commander of the Armed Forces; the function of secretary has been given to Ion Morei, head of the Supreme Security Council Service of the President's staff. According to the decree, SSC has got nine members: the prime-minister Zinaida Greceanai; president of the Commission for national seecurity, defence and public order of the Parliament - Iurie Stoicov; the director of the Information Security Service - Artur Resetnicov; general prosecutor – Valeriu Gurbulea; minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, deputy-minister Andrei Stratan; minister of Home Affairs – Valentin Mejinschi, minister of Defence – Vitalie Vrabie; governor of Moldova National Bank – Leonid Talmaci and the director of the Centre for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes - Serghei Puscuta. According to the decree, the speaker has the right to participate at the sittings of SSC. The Supreme Security Council is a consultative body which analyzes the activity of ministries and departments in the field of national security and presents recommendations to the President of the Republic of Moldova in term of foreign and home policy of the state. // DECA-Press Publication date: 07 April 2008 Source: Archive
