The „historic vote” from April 4th 2005 causes polemics in the Parliament
The „historic vote” from April 4th 2005 for the re-election of Vladimir Voronin as president of the Republic of Moldova caused on Friday polemics in the Parliament, DECA-press communicates.
The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party from Moldova (PLDM), Vladimir Filat, affirms that his vote from April 4th 2005 for the reelection of Vladimir Voronin as president of the republic was a mistaked which he assumes at this moment. He said that he didn't regret what he had done, but he must realize that it was a mistake. The non-affiliated deputy Valentina Cusnir, who was a member of the Christian-Democratic People's Party (PPCD) before, considered the vote from April 4th 2005 a mistake. She confessed that she didn't follow the discipline of the party and didn't vote for Vladimir Voronin. „There, in the voting booth, God encouraged me to destroy the ballot paper. The vice-speaker Iurie Rosca, leader of PPCD, reconfirmed that, after the parliamentary elections from 2005, the ex-minister of defence, ex-director of the Information and Security Service, Valeriu Pasat, proposed him money from Moscow to organize a revolution in Moldova. The PPCD leader asserts that his faction voted for the reelection of Vladimir Voronin in order to avoid that revolution, as Moscow wanted it to be. According to his words, in that period, at a sitting of „Moldova Democrata” block, which had 34 deputies and was on the second place in the elections, „two Russian deputies also participate”, but he didn't say concretely who he was speaking about. The leader of „Moldova Noastra” Alliance (AMN), Serafim Urechean, who conducted the electoral block „Moldova Democrata” (BMD) in 2005, denied Iurie Rosca's words. „Moldova has never been in danger, as some people try to prove. They want just to soften their mistakes after the vote from April 4th 2005 and gossip behind people's back”, he declared. The prime-vice-president of the Democratic Party, Oleg Serebrian, who was the vice-president of BMD at that time, confirmed Iurie Rosca's words about the role of occidental factors in the reelection of Vladimir Voronin as president, but he dnied his declaration about the presence of two Russian officials at the sitting of BMD deputies. // DECA-Press Publication date: 05 April 2008 Source: Archive
