New Government intends to concentrate on real things

The just appointed new Government of Moldova is going to concentrate on the country’s fundamental problems, and will not waste precious time on trifles, Prime Minister Zinaida Grechanaya told a briefing for journalists.

In the year remaining until the next parliamentary elections, she said, the Government must demonstrate continuity in tackling the once started work, ensure a high-quality economic growth, and independence of the judiciary and mass media, “which must be absolutely impartial and correct”.

The Premier believes her team is good and strong, and “has set itself not some utopian objectives but real, attainable goals”.

“Relationship with Moscow shall be normal. We must live in good relations with all. I am the Moldova Co-Chair of the Moldo-Russian Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation. We have nothing particular to quarrel over. With Romania, a European Union Member State, we must have good neighborly relations, like with the rest of the European Union. But good relations with neighbors must not be at the expense of our statehood, international image or economic security”, said the new Moldovan Prime Minister.

In her words, the Government simply has no right to waste time on secondary-importance issues. The Government must be transparent, communicative, and must clearly realize what it does.

“Fairly soon, you will hear about a new structure of the Government, and you will be surprised to see changes which the Moldovan society has been long waiting from what concerns the Government’s structural organization. As for ministers, they are eligible to select their own teams the way they like, and I guess there should be no interference into this work of theirs”, said Zinaida Grechanaya. // Infotag
