Veaceslav Untila: „Those who have voted the act of Union proved to have a clear political view and spirit of sacrifice”
„Those who have voted the act of Union proved to have a clear political view and spirit of sacrifice” – the prime-vice-president of „Moldova Noastra” Alliance (AMN) considers.
As DECA-press transmits, he read of Thursday, in the Parliament, a statement on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the union of Basarabia with Romania, in which he mentioned that the members of Sfatul Tarii who had voted the union “had a noble goal and went forward to its accomplishment”. „Today, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the most important historic event, we must appreciate the main performances of the Act of Union. These are the main performances: the right of all citizens to free, secret and universal vote, the right to opinion and education, the right to private property, the rights of minorities equal to the ones of majority ethnic group, free circulation of ideas and financial flows, agrarian reform, compulsory education of all citizens, first until the 4th form, and then until the 7th form, the institution of some high schools and faculties necessary for the spiritual and economic frame of Basarabia, the opening of the National Theatre, the National Museum, different scientific, religious and cultural magazines, including in the languages of ethnic minorities”, he said. Veaceslav Untila declared that “the celebration of the 90th anniversary since the vote of the Act of Union of Basarabia with Romania gives the real occasion to assume our responsibility for getting rid of the crisis situation Republic of Moldova passes through, as the poorest, the weakest state of Europe from the spiritual and moral points of view”. He expressed his regret about the fat that „those who have participated at the events before and after the year 1991 were not able to repeat the deed of our ancestors”. Veaceslav Untila mentioned that “the current communist regime has systematically attacked everything which is Romanian in the Republic of Moldova”. „In seven year of governing, communists managed to worsen the official relations between the two Romanian states. But they won’t manage to compromise what was constructed and fortified for centuries and our essence as a nation. Regimes come and go, while our unit as a nation stands. It is our duty to keep it both for our sake and for the sake of our successors”, the prime-vice-president of AMN also declared. // DECA-Press Publication date: 28 March 2008 Source: Archive
