The Embassy of Romania transmitted the authorities from Chisinau the project of agreement on the small crossing of borders
The Embassy of Romania to Chisinau diffused a press release by means of which it announces it had transmitted the Moldovan authorities, on March 26th, the project of Convention regarding the small crossing of the borders between Romania and Republic of Moldova, DECA-press Agency transmits.
The convention regarding the small crossing of borders between Republic of Moldova and Romania provides the facilitation of the access of citizens who live next to external borders of the European Union. The Romanian authorities express their hope that the authorities from Chisinau will examine the project and will reply to the proposal of the Romanian part in the shortest possible time. The convention which Romania wants to conclude with the Republic of Moldova will permit citizens from both countries, who live in a definite zone next to the common borders to circulate in this zone of both countries without visas and passport only on the basis of some certificates which would permit the small crossing of the borders. Romania proposed the Republic of Moldova that the reference zone be extended to 50 kilometres from the common borders, both in Republic of Moldova and Romania, which is the maximal distance permitted by the European requirements. This will facilitate the circulation to Romania of a great number of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the press release mentions. On March 26th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania handled a copy of the Convention on the small crossing of the borders to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova from Bucharest. // DECA-Press Publication date: 28 March 2008 Source: Archive
