The European Movement is a political party which has as fundamental goal the integration of Moldova in the European Union and Euro-Atlantic structures. The movement was created by several members of the Association of Historians from Moldova.
The European Movement was founded after the Parties Congress from 22 October 2006 in Chisinau which was attended by 776 delegates. Congress adopted the new statutes of the party and elected governing bodies. The chairman of the EMM was elected Anatol Petrencu.
