Vlad Filat: Moldovan citizens are European citizens
The statement was made by the Prime Minister Vlad Filat during a meeting with the Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Chisinau, Dirk Schuebel.
According to Government’s Press Service the two officials discussed Moldova-EU relations, but also about latest events in Moldova. They mentioned the progress of recent years in negotiations on the Association Agreement, the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement and the Agreement on Visa Liberalisation.
“The citizens of Moldova are European citizens and deserve to benefit fully from European values and freedoms”, mentioned Filat during the meeting.
The officials also referred to the recent visit to Moldova of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, appreciating the visit as “very good”. According to the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, the results of this visit “were above expectations”.
