Vlad Filat meets Ukrainian, Polish, Dutch counterparts in Germany

Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat has met Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko during his visit to Bonn, Germany, where he was participating in a congress of the European People's Party, the Moldovan news agency Infotag reported on 10 December.

The two prime ministers discussed border demarcation issues and possibilities for removing obstacles to the transit of Moldovan goods through Ukraine and to the free movement of citizens of the two states.

During his visit to Bonn, Filat also met Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Dutch Prime Minister Jan-Peter Balkenende and Romanian President Traian Basescu.

The Polish prime minister said that Warsaw was ready to support Moldova's European integration bid and invited Vlad Filat to visit Poland.

Filat's talks with the Romanian president focused on the implementation of the convention on small border traffic and the opening of Romanian consulates in Cahul and Balti and of a Moldovan consulate in Iasi, Infotag said.
