Video: Couple executed by Taliban for having affair
Horrifying footage has emerged of a couple being executed by the Taliban after conducting an alleged affair in a Pakistan village near the Afghan border. Taliban gunmen have been filmed executing a surprised couple whom they repeatedly shot for the alleged crime of adultery.
A local journalist captured the footage on his mobile telephone, which showed a gunman shooting the couple after they attempted to escape when they realise what is about to happen. But a gunman casually shoots the man and then the woman in the back with a burst of gunfire, leaving them bleeding in the dirt.
Moments later, when others in the execution party shout out that they are still alive, he returns to coldly finish them with a few more rounds.
The film, which aired on Pakistani channel Dawn News, shows the killings, which took place in Hangu District, a violent militant-controlled frontier region two hours from Peshawar, is further indication of the spread of the Taliban in Pakistan.
