Transnistria authorities require the withdrawal of the armed personnel from the Moldova prisons situated on it's territory


Chişinău / Moldova.ORG/ -- In a recent statement the Transnistria self-proclaimed authorities required from Moldova the retreat of its armed forces from the territory under its control. The declaration mentions the necessity of the retreat of the, “armed forces of the Republic of Moldova, illegally housed in the penitentiaries on the territory controlled by the Transnistrian part.”
The Transnistrian authorities mention that the Republic of Moldova made from two prisons that it controls, on the territory of Transnistria, in the Bender town, powerful fortifications. The Transnistria authorities mention the presence of approximately 300 military personnel, armed especially with firearms and non - lethal weapons.

Also the Transnistria authorities mention that the Moldavian part does not respect the agreement from 21 July 1992 concerning the retreat and the disarmament of the parties involved in the conflict. Because of the “controversial events that have place in Moldova” presently the Transnistria delegation in the Unified Control Commission requires urgently the retreat of the armed forces of the Republic of Moldova from the prisons that are on the Transnistrian teritory.

Moldova and self-proclaimed Transnistria authorities proclaimed the region of town Bender as a territory under common jurisdiction and administration. The Transnistrian authorities refused to permit the activity of the Moldova police on the territory of Bender. At the moment the Moldova authorities control two penitentiaries on the territory of this town. In the recent years the Transnistria authorities made a series of actions and activities in order to disturb the activity of this penitentiaries, and required repeatedly the evacuation of this institutions from town Bender.
