Traian Basescu declares that Romania will support Moldova in all situations
Chisinau (Moldova.ORG) -- The President of Romania, Traian Basescu made recently on the 16th of December a series of declarations concerning the relations of Romania with Moldova in case if the political situation in Chisinau changes.
Basescu declared that “Romania will keep it’s financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova in any situation, indifferently who will govern in Chisinau.” But he added, “I hope that they will succeed to maintain the Alliance for Europe”. Also the Romanian President mentioned that the Moldo-Romanian relations will depend on who will govern in Chisinau, “the bilateral relation depends exclusively of Chisinau.”
Concerning the assistance to Moldova Basescu mentioned that, “But in all conditions, we will maintain the financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova. Only in this year, Romania has provided yet, a assistance of about 8 million euros. ”
One of the most important declarations of the Romanian President confirms the support of Romania for Moldova on European integration, “Romania will always be a supporter of European aspirations and of the European way of the Republic of Moldova. We will continue to accord citizenship to those that lost it abusively, we will continue to offer 5000 places for studies every year and we will continue to support politically.”
The declarations of the Romanian President are made in the context of the unclear political negotiations of the political parties in Moldova after the Parliamentary elections.
