Thinking comparatively
By Andrei Munteanu
Chisinau (Moldova.ORG) – We are witnessing a farce, which rightfully can be considered as sarcastic and even grotesque – the electoral publicity spot of the communists.
Discussions on this topic have always been, and will be actual in all the countries. What we can notice here, in the Republic of Moldova, is that they are totally “specific” in terms of „particular quality”, it is something that characterizes this people; by the way we choose our politicians, the world perceives all of the Moldovan citizens.
Nevertheless, should we think about the political messages shot on video spots, and should we allow ourselves having some attitudes, even some critical views on one or the other, it might be improper not to approach these spots and/or manifestations reflected.
Thus, in the electoral campaign publicity spot of the Moldovan Communists’ Party (MCP) there are criticized Mihai Ghimpu (Liberal Party leader) and Marian Lupu (Democratic Party leader), the first one for some jovial gests and the other for having perceived in Mr. Ghimpu’s personality someone worthy of only positive appreciation. In other words, Mr. Lupu is also obliquely criticized for a normal capacity, which is very deficient for many other politicians in our society, to make distinction between jovial gestures of a person (i.e. Mr. Ghimpu’s) and one’s soundness of character and integrity.
Could these traits be considered „dangerous” manifestations of the Moldovan political class representatives? Can Mr. Ghimpu’s joviality and rightful appreciation on behalf of the alliance colleague be considered grounds for taking them as manifestations, towards which: „Moldova cannot lose any more?”, as communists claim? Nothing of the kind. Which is the “loss”?
Anyone of us, who reads for a reason or other, knows that it has been written a lot about joviality, for instance about joviality of Ion Creanga (Romanian writer), and, one could not help admit, that Ion Creangă wasn’t criticized for joviality, for a mere reason that he was not involved in politics so much, as we know, but rather preferred to write mostly fairytales for children.
On the other hand, let us remind the interview delivered by Vladimir Voronin, on September 27, 2010, displayed on Pro-TV Chisinau web-site, and listen to what he sais after the: „Este Ţiganca o proprietate a familiei Voronin?”/(Is Tsiganca [forest] a property of Voronin family?). I think this interview, actually as many others voiced by him, are an obvious display of some very regretful facts, which the people pretend not to notice – it is an obvious public disinformation, about which details are still pending to be made public, and amuse ourselves, sometime later.
Now, should we make a comparison between the communists publicity spot in the electoral campaign and Vladimir Voronin’s interview, they must be analyzed comparatively and pondered upon – what is more dangerous for the future of the Moldovan people – joviality or dispossessing people of public assets and banning access to them, inasmuch as this act starts being approached in a penal investigation?
