The well-known businessman Vladimir Plahotniuc was very close to become the new prime-minister of Moldova
The well-known businessman Vladimir Plahotniuc was very close to become the new prime-minister of Moldova. This idea is launched by the Russian publication „Moldavskie Vedomosti” in its Friday number, DECA-press transmits.
According to the cited source, his candidacy was seriously examined and only in the last moment, President Vladimir Voronin chose Zinaida Grecianii.
The newspaper asserts that Plahotniuc is the closest Moldovan businessman to Vladimir Voronin and that he could be closer to the head of the state than his son, businessman Oleg Voronin.
The publication also affirms that when giving up Vladimir Plahotniuc's candidacy, they took into account the relation of forces among different groups from the governing party. In the author's opinion, Plahotniuc's appointment as a prime-minister could have destroyed the relative equilibrium which exists among these groups and would have damage the harmony among them. // DECA-Press
