The Russian Ambassador Valeri Kuzmin ends his mandate in Moldova
Russian Ambassador to Moldova Valeri Kuzmin ends his term in office. Before leaving, the official met with Marian Lupu, the President of the Moldovan Parliament. Mr. Kuzmin said that Russia is interested to extend its co-operation with the Republic of Moldova. He also thanked for the support the Moldovan authorities offered during his mandate.
The Moldovan official expressed his interest in the process of consolidation of the bilateral relations, especially on the Parliamentary side. He wants to resume the activity of the interparliamentary Commision to point out permanent contacts between the specialized comissions of the Moldovan Parliament and the Russian Federal Assembly.
Being a hot topic, Marian Lupu expressed his interest in signing a new contract with the Russian providers of natural gas as soon as possible.
The next Ambassador to Moldova will be Farid Mukhametshin, 62, who was Russia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan during 2003-2008.
On April 6 the countries will mark 20 years of diplomatic relations.
